Our CYBEX correspondent Paula visited the zoo with her family and loved it:
“The Zoo de Vincennes is the oldest Zoo in Paris. I was very curious to see this place since I moved to Paris because it was the favorite place of Jean Paul Goude, one of the most famous french art directors of all times. He claims in his biography that all his artistic universe was inspired by the childhood he spent hanging out at this zoo.
Unfortunately it was closed since 2008 for renovation, so when it re-opened in april 2014, we just had to go immediately.
What I liked most is that’s more than one ordinary zoo, because all the landscape is fake with the famous big rock we felt we were inside another universe or a jungle movie. It’s an experience for the whole family! Lots of interaction with animals and hidden places to explore.
Tips for parents: the restaurants don’t serve any healthy food for kids, but there is a beautiful picnic area inside the park to enjoy the view. The Zoo shop has a very good selection of books and educational toys for children.”
