In 1950, Charles and Ray Eames were the first designers in the furniture industry to use the then still unknown material of plastic and began to develop cheap seating furniture with it.
Charles & Ray Eames are famous for their functional, beautifully shaped furniture design. In 1945, they developed a toy elephant made of plywood, which however was never serially produced. The elephant, which is both a toy and a piece of furniture, is now available in plastic: The Vitra Eames Elephant!
The elephant comes in five colours: red, ice grey, white, dark lime and light pink. Its measurements are 417 x 412 x 785 mm. Naturally the Eames Elephant from Vitra has the usual GS and CE safety certificates for toys.
The Vitra Design Museum’s revival of the Eames Elephant makes it available to everyone for the first time. The special toy is definitely a great present for very young children and therefore deserves our WE LOVE rating.
